Accessibility & ADA Policy

Rec Technologies is committed to making our platform and services accessible to everyone β€” including people with disabilities. This page explains how we approach accessibility, what to expect from our platform, and how to get help if something isn't working for you.

Our Commitment

We believe that everyone deserves equal access to recreation. That means building digital tools that work for people with a wide range of abilities, and supporting the partners who serve those communities.

Rec Technologies is committed to meeting the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as applicable to our digital services, and works toward meeting the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

Accessibility is an ongoing effort β€” not a one-time checkbox. We're always working to improve.

What We're Doing

Our ongoing accessibility efforts include:

  • Clear, consistent page structure and headings

  • Sufficient color contrast across text and interface elements

  • Alternative text on meaningful images

  • Keyboard navigation support

  • Plain language in help content and documentation

  • Regular review of our platform for accessibility gaps

For End Users (Residents & Community Members)

If you're a community member registering for programs, booking a facility, or using Rec through a parks and recreation department β€” we want the experience to work for you.

If something isn't accessible or you need help, please reach out:

We can provide information in alternative formats (such as large print or accessible digital text) upon request. Just let us know what you need.

For Partner Admins (Parks & Recreation Staff)

As a Rec partner, you have responsibilities under the ADA to ensure your programs and facilities are accessible to all residents. While Rec provides the technology platform, your organization remains responsible for ADA compliance in your operations, facilities, and program offerings.

Here are a few ways Rec supports your compliance efforts:

  • Accessible registration flows for residents using assistive technologies

  • Flexible payment and scholarship tools to reduce financial barriers

  • Customizable communications so you can reach residents in the formats they need

  • Support documentation available in accessible formats upon request

If you have questions about how to configure Rec in a way that supports your ADA obligations, contact your Partner Success Manager or reach out to support@rec.us.

Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some areas may not yet be fully accessible, including:

  • Certain third-party integrations or embedded tools

  • Older help documents not originally created to accessibility standards

  • Features recently released that are still undergoing accessibility review

We're committed to addressing these issues as they're identified.

Reporting an Accessibility Issue

If you encounter a barrier while using Rec, we want to know. When reporting an issue, it helps to include:

  • The page or feature you were trying to use

  • A description of what happened

  • Your preferred contact method

Email us at: support@rec.us

Accessibility feedback is reviewed regularly and directly shapes our roadmap.

Third-Party Content

Some features in Rec rely on third-party platforms. We can't always control the accessibility of those external services, but we advocate for accessible design with our vendors and provide alternative support wherever we can.

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be updated periodically to reflect platform improvements, changes in standards, or updates to applicable law. The "last updated" date at the top of this article reflects the most recent revision.
