Instructors now have the option to offer first-time students a 25% discount if they book within 48 hours of being introduced to you.
Rec will cover half the cost of providing this discount! That means Rec is helping subsidize this promotion if you want to offer it to close new students.
The goal is the provide an incentive to the students to take a chance on booking their first lesson before losing interest - hopefully converting more of your new lesson and matchmaking requests
How to offer the discount for a Lesson Request
Once you’ve been introduced to the student via text by the platform - you can decide if you want to offer them the 25% discount if it’s their first lesson with you
If you want to offer the discount, simply lower your price by 25% of your base rate and let the student know that if they book within 48 hours they can purchase at that lower price
If the student books at the discounted price
Email instructors@rec.us with the customers name and when their lesson is. We’ll make sure you’re reimbursed for half the loss of your payout for providing the discount
How to offer a discount for a Matchmaking Request
The Instructor Ops team will confirm with you that you’ve opted in to the 25% first-lesson discount promotion
When we create a text conversation introducing you to the student, we will let them know they can get the lesson for 25% if they book within 48 hours
If the student agrees, adjust your price down to 25% from your base rate before sending a booking link to the student
If the student books at the discounted price
Email instructors@rec.us with the customers name and when their lesson is. We’ll make sure you’re reimbursed for half the loss of your payout for providing the discount
How the discount will affect your payout
Rec will cover half of the cost of the discount by issuing you a supplemental payment during the next pay cycle. See an example calculation below for a sample lesson at $100 an hour.
