How to Book a Lesson with a Rec Instructor
If you want to book a one-on-one or small group lesson with a Rec instructor, you have two booking options.
Booking Options
You can choose one of the following:
Instant Book lessons offered by the instructor
Request a lesson directly from the instructor
Instant Book Lessons
Instructors can post Instant Book lessons for times and locations when they know they are available. These lessons can be booked immediately, without needing to message the instructor first.
Instant Book lessons allow you to:
View available lesson times in advance
Book a lesson right away
Avoid back-and-forth communication
Every Instant Book time shown on an instructor’s profile calendar is a time you can actually book. Slots that are already fully booked are hidden, so you will not see a time listed and then find it is unavailable.
Find Instant Book Lessons
You can preview an instructor’s available Instant Book lesson times in the Coaching Hub.
From there, select an instructor to view their available lesson slots and booking options.
You can also visit an instructor’s profile to view all of their upcoming Instant Book lesson times.
Request a Lesson with the Instructor
If none of the available Instant Book slots fit your schedule, you can select Request a Lesson to ask the instructor for a time that works for you.
Step 1: Provide Details for Your Lesson Request
When requesting a lesson, enter a message to the instructor with the following information:
Preferred time and location – When and where you would like the lesson to take place.
Who will attend – Indicate whether the lesson is for you or for someone else.
Number of participants – Depending on the activity, up to 4 people may join the lesson.
Lesson goals or notes – Include any information about what you want to learn or focus on during the lesson.
Providing these details helps the instructor plan a lesson that meets your needs.
Step 2: Submit Your Lesson Request
After you submit your lesson request:
The instructor will be notified of your request.
Once the instructor accepts, they will send you a link to book and confirm the lesson.
Use this link to complete your booking and finalize the lesson details.
Track Your Request on the Schedule Page
After you submit a lesson request, it also appears on your Schedule page in a To be scheduled group. From there you can:
See the current status of your request while you wait for the instructor to respond.
Cancel the request if you no longer need it.
Note: This view is still being rolled out and may not be turned on for your organization yet. If you do not see a To be scheduled group on your Schedule page, watch for the instructor’s booking link by text or email instead.

Confirm Your Lesson Promptly
Please confirm your lesson as soon as possible. A space is reserved for your lesson, but if it remains unbooked, we may need to release it so other residents can use it.
To ensure your lesson is secured, confirm your booking at least 2 days in advance.
This 2-day reservation buffer is the value currently in force for your organization. Reservation buffers and auto-cancel thresholds are configured per organization on the Instructor Network settings page, so the exact window can differ elsewhere.
