Creating Your Rec Account - Getting Started

Welcome to Rec--here's how to setup your account.

Written by Loris Lamarque

Welcome and thanks for signing up! We'll get you started on your journey to modern parks and recreation on Rec.

First steps--getting signed up! You'll need to create your new Rec account and add in any household members, contact information, birthdates, etc.

Step 1: Sign Up

Get signed up by clicking on the sign up button directly on your organization's Rec page. Complete your contact information, phone number, address and date of birth to get started.

Did staff create your account for you?

If someone at your parks and recreation department created your account for you, you don't need to sign up again. You'll get an account completion link—by email, or by text message if there's no email address on your account—that opens a dedicated account completion page where you finish setting up your account and create a password. Staff can also copy that completion link and pass it to you directly if you didn't receive it.

Step 2: Add your Household Members

Next, head to your new Rec profile (located at https://www.rec.us/app/profile) and add your household members like kids, spouse, family, etc--anyone who lives at your current address or residence. You'll enter their birthdates, phone numbers and emails (if they have them). If they don't have an email or phone (like kids), their contact information will default to yours.

You can also add a household member from inside the registration flow itself. If the person you're registering isn't on your household list yet, add them right there and they'll be selected automatically so you can keep going without leaving the registration.

Step 3: Start exploring your new organization's site!

Once your city, town or park district goes live on Rec, you can browse their catalog of programming, facility rentals, memberships or more! And don't forget about Fast Track--the easy way to wishlist those upcoming classes you'll want to take. Get ahead of the line with Fast Track and save time during checkout.

When a registration window is coming up, Fast Track is presented as the main action to take on that listing. If there's no eligible upcoming registration window, the Fast Track option appears disabled—that means there's nothing to fast track yet, not that something has gone wrong.
