If you are considering transferring your reservation, please review the information below.
Giving your spot to another person
Reservations cannot be transferred to another person. The name on the reservation must match the individual attending the program or activity, and each reservation is linked to the attendee name provided at the time of booking.
This applies to court and facility reservations as well as program and class registrations.
Moving to a different class, session or date
Transferring your spot to a different person and moving your own registration to a different class are two different things.
If you are registered for a program or class and need to move to a different section, session or date, you usually do not have to cancel and register again. Your Parks and Recreation department can transfer an existing registration for you, including in cases such as:
Moving a participant from one section or program to another
Moving several participants at once
Fixing a registration made on the wrong household member
Contact your local parks and recreation department and tell them the registration you have and the section you would like to move to. Staff can transfer a registration into most sections, including sections whose sessions have already ended. They cannot transfer a participant into a session that participant is already booked into — those options are hidden from the transfer list.
Whether a transfer is possible, and whether any price difference or fee applies, is set by the department’s own policy. Where a price difference does apply, Rec handles it the same way everywhere: if the new section costs the same, the transfer goes through right away; if it costs less, the difference is returned as account credit in your Rec account, never to your original payment method; if it costs more, you are sent to your cart to pay the balance.
Court and facility reservations cannot be moved this way, but your department may still be able to help. Staff can reschedule a facility rental reservation to a different time, or reassign it to a different site, on their side. Ask your department before cancelling the booking.
Reservation holder responsibility
The person listed on the reservation is responsible for attending. If you are unable to attend and a transfer is not an option, you should cancel the reservation.
How to cancel a reservation
To cancel your reservation:
Sign in to your user profile.
Go to the Schedule section.
Select the reservation you want to cancel.
Choose the cancel option and confirm.
Refunds for cancelled reservations follow your organization’s refund policy. See How do I cancel or modify my reservation? for the full cancellation and refund process.
Need help?
If you are unable to attend and need assistance, or you would like a registration moved to a different section, reach out to your local parks and recreation department directly. They set the transfer and refund rules for their own programs and can process the change for you.
