How to Request a Refund for a Booking or Reservation

If you need to cancel a booking or reservation and request a refund, Rec and your city partner make the process straightforward.

Step 1: Check the Refund Policy for Your City

Each city has its own refund policy. You can find the policy:

  • On your booking receipt, or

  • In the confirmation email you received when booking.

Common rules include:

  • Refund requests usually must be made a certain number of days before the class or reservation.

  • Some cities allow refunds for extreme weather events.

  • If a class is canceled by the coach and not rescheduled in time, a refund is issued as account credit.

  • If a class is canceled by the user, refunds may be subject to administrative fees. Contact Rec support for clarification.

Step 2: Request a Refund

After confirming your city’s policy:

  1. Log in to your Rec account and request a refund.

  2. Or, contact our support team directly at support@rec.us.

    • If the policy allows a refund, our team will process it for you.

Special Note: If you're requesting a refund for a court issue (weather, etc) for SF Parks and Recreation Pickleball or Tennis, please read this important refund/cancellation/credit policy located here BEFORE submitting a request.

Refund Processing Details

If your refund request falls within the policy, it can be processed in one of two ways:

  1. Account Credit – Your refund will be added to your Rec account at no extra fee.

  2. Payment Method Refund – Your refund can be returned to your original payment method. A small transaction fee charged by the payment processor may apply.

Some cancellations may also have administrative fees according to Rec platform policies. If applicable, these fees will be deducted from the refund amount.

Timing of Refunds

After your refund is processed:

  • Refunds typically take 3–5 business days to appear on your card.

  • This delay is due to the banks’ processing times, not Rec.

If You Need Assistance

If you believe your refund was not processed correctly or needs further review:

  1. Go to the Help section in your Rec account.

  2. Contact Rec support for assistance.

Best regards,
Rec Support
